Subscription Management
How to cancel, reactivate, and manage your OrbitKit subscription.
Your OrbitKit account has a single subscription that covers all your deployed apps. You can manage your subscription from the Account page.
Seat-based model
- Your account has one subscription with a seat count equal to your deployed apps.
- Deploying a new app adds a seat (Stripe prorates the charge).
- Deleting a deployed app removes a seat (you receive a prorated credit).
- Your payment method is saved at the account level for seamless billing.
Canceling your subscription
When you cancel your subscription:
- The subscription is scheduled for cancellation at the end of the current billing period.
- All your sites stay fully active until the period ends.
- You can continue to edit and redeploy during this time.
- After the period ends, all hosted pages are replaced with a placeholder page.
To cancel, go to the Account page and click Cancel Subscription.
Reactivating your subscription
If you change your mind before the billing period ends, you can reactivate:
- Go to the Account page.
- Click Reactivate.
- The pending cancellation is removed and your subscription continues as normal.
Reactivation is only possible before the billing period ends. Once the period expires, deploying any app will automatically create a new subscription.
What happens when a payment fails
If a payment fails (e.g., an expired or declined card):
- All your sites stay fully online while we retry the payment. There is no interruption to your hosted pages.
- Stripe automatically retries the payment over approximately two weeks.
- You’ll receive email notifications from Stripe with a link to update your payment method.
- If the payment succeeds on a retry, everything continues as normal.
- If all retries fail, the subscription is canceled and your sites enter the retention period described below.
Why this matters: Since OrbitKit hosts your App Store privacy policy URL, taking your site offline for a temporary payment issue could cause problems with Apple’s review process. Your sites remain live until the subscription is fully canceled.
What happens when a subscription expires
When a subscription fully expires (after the billing period ends or all payment retries fail):
- All hosted pages show a placeholder page informing visitors the site is no longer active.
- Your configuration data (privacy policy, support page, etc.) is preserved for 30 days — nothing is deleted immediately.
- You can resubscribe at any time during this period by deploying any app, which creates a new subscription instantly using your saved card.
Switching plans
To switch between monthly and yearly plans, go to the Account page and use the plan toggle on your subscription card. The change applies to all seats. Stripe handles proration automatically.
Deleting an app
Deleting an app removes its seat from your subscription (with prorated credit). If it’s the last deployed app, the subscription is canceled. This is different from canceling, which keeps all your apps deployed until the period ends.
