Billing & Subscriptions
OrbitKit pricing, seat-based billing, and payment flow.
OrbitKit uses a seat-based subscription model. Your account has a single subscription, and each deployed app uses one seat. You’re only charged for apps that are deployed.
Plans
| Plan | Price | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $5/mo per seat | Cancel anytime |
| Yearly | $50/yr per seat | Save ~17% vs. monthly |
Both plans include every feature. A “seat” is a deployed app — you can create as many apps as you want for free, and only pay when you deploy them.
How billing works
- Create apps freely — no charge until you deploy.
- Deploy your first app — a subscription is created with 1 seat ($5/mo or $50/yr).
- Deploy more apps — each additional deploy adds a seat. Stripe prorates the charge.
- Delete an app — the seat is removed and you receive a prorated credit.
- Delete your last deployed app — the subscription is canceled. Your card stays on file for instant resubscription next time.
First-time payment
When you deploy your first app without a payment method on file, OrbitKit shows a Stripe Payment Element where you enter your card details. This saves your card for future deployments.
Subsequent deployments
For additional app deployments, OrbitKit adds a seat to your subscription automatically using your saved payment method — no need to enter card details again.
3D Secure (3DS) authentication
Some cards require 3D Secure (also called SCA — Strong Customer Authentication) for additional verification. When this happens:
- OrbitKit detects that the payment requires authentication.
- A Stripe authentication dialog appears in your browser.
- Complete the verification with your bank (PIN, SMS code, or biometric).
- OrbitKit confirms the payment and activates the seat.
If you dismiss the 3DS dialog without completing verification, the deployment remains pending. You can retry from the Dashboard.
